Associate, Structured Settlements Origination Location: New York

Base Pay Range $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

In accordance with New York pay transparency laws the expected base salary for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Base salary does not include other compensation such as cash bonus.

Position Overview Obra Capital is seeking an Associate to join its Structured Settlements Origination team in New York. This role will support the sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and execution of structured settlement transactions across a national network of brokers, advisors, insurance carriers, and other counterparties. The ideal candidate will have approximately three years of experience originating or executing transactions within an insurance company, bank, or specialty finance platform and will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and commercial judgment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the origination and execution of structured settlement transactions from initial sourcing through closing

Develop and maintain relationships with structured settlement brokers, insurance carriers, attorneys, and other market participants

Analyze transaction economics, pricing, and risk characteristics to support investment decisions

Assist in underwriting cash flows, reviewing legal and settlement documentation, and coordinating due diligence

Prepare internal investment memoranda and materials for senior management and investment committees

Coordinate with internal legal, compliance, operations, and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction execution

Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and pricing in the structured settlements market

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus

Approximately 3 years of relevant experience at an insurance company, bank, structured settlement firm, or specialty finance platform

Direct experience originating, structuring, or supporting transaction execution is strongly preferred

Strong financial and quantitative skills, including cash flow analysis and pricing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously

Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with CRM systems is a plus

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
