The career opportunity for you: Fire Alarm Project Manager

The Fire Alarm Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of fire alarm system installation and maintenance projects. This role involves managing budgets, schedules, personnel, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in fire alarm systems, project management skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination

Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and deliverables.

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Execution and Oversight

Supervise installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., NFPA, local building codes).

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain quality standards.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.

Team Management

Lead and manage project teams, including technicians, installers, and subcontractors.

Provide training, mentorship, and support to team members as needed.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulations, and fire codes.

Coordinate with local authorities for inspections and approvals.

Client Relations

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing regular updates.

Build and maintain strong relationships to foster repeat business and referrals.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and financial records.

Provide regular reports on project status, risks, and performance metrics to management.

Qualifications Education and Experience

3–5 years of experience in fire alarm system installation, project management, or a related role.

Certifications

NICET II or above (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) certification in Fire Alarm Systems.

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (preferred).

Skills

Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work on construction sites and in various weather conditions.

May require occasional lifting of materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
