Tooling Supervisor Description: The Toolroom Supervisor will source new product tooling, provide tool specifications, follow-up and manage the building of new tools, follow-up and manage changes to new or existing tooling, and facilitate the preventative maintenance of existing tooling. The Toolroom Supervisor is required to manage overall maintenance costs and audit tool sources to maintain the lowest cost available.
Nature and Scope / Principal Accountabilities:
Serve on program teams to manage the building of new product tooling
Develop and maintain tool standards
Assist maintenance in tool preventative maintenance
Manage changes to tools
Interface with manufacturing to resolve processing issues through potential tool changes
Research alternative tooling sources for better cost, quality, and delivery
Maintain tool drawings and tool identification records
Responsible for approving tool design and materials
May be required to perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Manage and track complete timing of tool build compared to a master program timing schedule
Manage all costs for initial builds and audit any change cost to assure lowest costs
Work closely with the Process Specialist during tool tryouts to make sure the tool functions efficiently
Identify critical spare components, establish inventory and replenish system
Tooling Supervisor Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a Technical / Engineering discipline required; or Journeymen status with minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience; or Minimum of 10 years of technical/manufacturing experience.
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required. Must possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem‑solving tools.
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
Ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the plant from hourly represented employees to senior leadership as required
Goal oriented and a self‑starter and ability to lead and manage in a team based structure
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more
