Project Development Coordinator for Photography

The mission of the Photography Unit is to preserve the work of NYC Parks frame by frame. Through photography, the unit captures events, programs, award presentations, celebrations and most importantly, our greenspaces.
Major Responsibilities
Under general direction, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform very responsible work for the Photography Unit.
Provide Agency with photographs of parks properties, special events, press events, programs and projects for internal use and for distribution to media outlets.
Create content with a range of creative, technical and documentary imagery.
Travel to Parks properties across all 5 boroughs to photograph assignments.
Photograph Agency events such as award ceremonies and promotions/graduations.
Attend Commissioner events for purpose of creating digital photographs that can be sent to local media.
Respond to Press Office requests for photos of specific parks or events.
Edit, retouch, upload and archive photos in database for future reference.
Maintain photographic equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
Experience with digital cameras, including digital single-lens reflex cameras.
Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and PhotoShop image editing techniques and workflow.
Portfolio demonstrating photographic skills. Link on resume to digital portfolio preferred.
Professional demeanor and excellent organizational skills.
Proficient with ambient and studio light and strong visual storytelling ability.
Experience with image sizing and color settings for web and print.
Experience with archiving and cataloging digital media.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Valid New York State driver license.
