Position Overview:

As

MUSV Commissioning Supervisor

at Saronic-Franklin-New Orleans, you will lead day-to-day vessel crewing, testing execution, and operational activities during commissioning and sea trials.

Prior to launch of the first vessel, you will be creating the sea trial plan and supporting the company’s goals in getting the vessel ABS certified and USCG COI.

This role is responsible for hands‑on supervision, task execution, and first‑line leadership to support end‑of‑line (EOL) production, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality testing.

You will work under the direction of the MUSV Commissioning Manager and coordinate closely with Mission Operations, software, production, and quality teams to ensure each vessel is tested, documented, and prepared for delivery without defect.

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Execution

Supervise vessel operators, test crew, and contractors during commissioning and sea trials

Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed safely and correctly

Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new operators and crew

Provide performance feedback and input to the MUSV Commissioning Manager

Vessel Testing & Operations

Execute vessel testing plans and operational checklists in accordance with schedules

Coordinate sea trials, dock trials, and system tests to ensure timely completion

Serve as on‑scene operational lead during testing activities

Ensure vessels are prepared for safe operation prior to each test evolution

Quality & Documentation

Perform quality checks and verify testing results meet specifications

Identify defects, discrepancies, or test failures and report findings promptly

Ensure accurate completion of logs, checklists, test reports, and operational records

Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions in coordination with QA/QC

Safety & Compliance

Enforce Saronic EHS policies, shipyard safety rules, and operational risk controls

Assist in ensuring testing is following USCG protocol

Conduct pre‑job briefings and ensure PPE and safe work practices are followed

Report on hazards, incidents, and near‑misses immediately

Support compliance with USCG, ABS, and internal safety requirements

Cross‑Functional Coordination

Coordinate daily activities with vendors, software, production, and engineering teams

Support CONOPS development and operational validation during testing

Interface with vessel masters, port authorities, and contractors as directed

Assist with smooth handoffs from EOL testing to Mission Operations

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of vessel operations, sea trials, and commissioning workflows

Working knowledge of maritime regulations, navigation safety, and best practices

Ability to organize and lead small teams in dynamic operational environments

Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to elevate issues appropriately and provide clear status updates

Job Proficiency

Ensure assigned crew and vendors complete tasks safely and on schedule

Troubleshoot operational, testing, and quality issues in real time

Provide recommendations to leadership regarding process improvements

Support efficient use of personnel, equipment, and test assets

Maintain accurate and timely operational documentation

Assist in evaluating testing effectiveness and operational readiness

Culture & Collaboration

Follow all shipyard and vessel safety policies, including PPE, fire safety, and confined space requirements

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

Represent Saronic positively to internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrate accountability for safety, quality, and operational outcomes

Work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment

Maintain professional conduct with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and customers

Willingness to travel to Mission Ops and testing sites within CONUS as required
