The BIDMC & VA Boston Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship has positions available, with a planned start date of July 1, 2026.

This is an ACGME-accredited fellowship affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Training takes place across two complementary systems: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the VA Boston Healthcare System. Fellows develop advanced skills in inpatient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, caring for patients with complex medical and psychiatric comorbidity under close, hands‑on supervision.

The fellowship offers:

Broad exposure to inpatient C‑L psychiatry across medicine, surgery, oncology, transplant, ICU, and specialty services

Structured supervision, protected didactics, and regular mentorship

No overnight or weekend call

Four weeks of vacation

The program can consider full‑time or part‑time training configurations, including completion over two years, in accordance with ACGME and institutional requirements.

Depending on fellow interests and service needs, there may be opportunities to concentrate clinical time in specific areas such as psycho‑oncology, women’s mental health, or neuropsychiatry‑adjacent work. These opportunities are not guaranteed and reflect areas of existing program strength.

Graduates pursue academic, hospital‑based, and leadership roles in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry.

Compensation and benefits:

Salary follows the BIDMC housestaff scale with a current PGY‑5 salary of $93,228 plus a $7,500 stipend. View BIDMC housestaff benefits and resources.
