Description
Part-time position starting in September that will be no more than 29 hours per week.
Shifts are flexible with daytime, evening and weekend hours
Locations: Wayzata East Middle School Pool
Training provided prior to program start dates
Water Safety Instructor (Swim Lead) While promoting swimmer safety, educate participants on proper swim skills and techniques. Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines; maintain a controlled and safe learning environment for all participants.
Hourly Pay Range:
$16.83 - $19.58
Head Water Safety Instructor Provide lead supervision of water safety instructors (swim leads). While promoting swimmer safety, educate participants on proper swim skills and techniques. Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines; maintain a controlled and safe learning environment for all participants.
Hourly Pay Range:
$18.70 - $21.76
Essential Functions
Plan, organize and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting
Provide support, as needed, for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment
Work as part of a team to ensure quality programs for all ages
Follow staff policies and procedures, ensuring all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures
Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants
Qualifications Water Safety Instructor (Swim Lead) Required Qualifications:
Must be 16 years old by program start date
Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, function well under stress, show respect and compassion and be customer focused.
Desire to work in a team environment with a commitment to the success of the program.
Head Water Safety Instructor Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old by program start date
Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
Prior experience as a water safety instructor (swim lead)
Supervisory experience
First Aid and CPR certification
Desired Qualification:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, function well under stress, show respect and compassion and be customer focused.
Demonstrated ability to lead water safety instructors (swim leads)
Desire to work in a team environment with a commitment to the success of the program.
Seasonal, temporary and non-regular employees are not eligible for benefits.
