Position Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an
EH&S Safety Coordinator

Level 3 or Level 4
– to join our team in
Huntsville, AL .
This position is fully on‑site; remote work is not available. The EH&S Safety Coordinator is essential for ensuring safety training and compliance is current, and for keeping senior EH&S management updated on day‑to‑day safety operations in Huntsville and field locations as needed. The role will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities
Provide EH&S support to Launch Systems Programs
Schedule and conduct EH&S‑related training
Assist with accident/incident investigations
Conduct frequent safety walks and inspections
Assist with building MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) as needed
Conduct monthly AED inspections
Assist with ergonomic assessments and provide safety‑related guidance
Upload weekly EH&S operation activity report
Review safety plans
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications – Level 3
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience in Safety/EH&S.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, which typically requires U.S. citizenship.
Ability to travel domestically to support launch campaigns and provide support at other sites as needed.
Basic Qualifications – Level 4
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of additional education and/or related experience in Safety/EH&S.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, which typically requires U.S. citizenship.
Ability to travel domestically to support launch campaigns and provide support at other sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance of Secret or above.
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management, or similar.
Experience with ordnance handling/operations.
Familiarity with pressure operations, crane operations, and forklift operations.
Knowledge of fall protection, confined space operations, and working around/on scaffolding.
Certification(s) – OSHA, HAZMAT, NFPA, ANSI, RCRA, Certified Safety Professional.
Salary Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 – $89,100.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 – $105,900.00. The range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers multiple factors when determining base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives, as well as a full benefits package.
