Job Description The Administrative Assistant II performs customary clerical and technical duties in support of business or college operations, managing an office at a fully operational level with increased complexity and confidentiality. Duties include using established guidelines, procedural methods, or improvising solutions.

Qualifications

Education and experience sufficient for the needs of the position (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree and one year related experience, Associate’s Degree and two years related experience, or High School/GED and three years related experience). Equivalent education and experience are acceptable.

Special skills: knowledge of standard administrative and business methods, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with automated systems, and excellent reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English. Ability to operate office equipment and use computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, email). Multi‑tasking, meeting deadlines, strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Welcoming, innovative, focused on student success; commitment to working effectively with people of all backgrounds. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Minimum Qualifications Essential duties include:

Problem solving, applying guidelines, exercising independent judgment.

Managing clerical/technical aspects of a department or administrative office: document preparation and maintenance, coordination, scheduling, monitoring, communication, and serving as a resource.

Complex and confidential support activities; creating, preparing, maintaining, and distributing documents and confidential material.

Scheduling appointments, coordinating staff support for meetings, taking and distributing minutes, making travel arrangements, monitoring deadlines, preparing reports, managing confidential issues, gathering data.

Handling mail, responding to inquiries, maintaining records, assisting with special projects, events, or admissions processes.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Supervision

Reports to a designated administrator.

No supervisory responsibility.

Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicle records is required. May require travel within the college district, altered work schedules, and/or occasional evening or weekend hours. Incumbents must adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all assigned duties.

Working Conditions Position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, driving, and handling objects. Frequent reaching with hands and arms. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Communication predominantly written and oral, with occasional calculation. Work involves computer use and standard office equipment daily and occasional vehicle use.

Benefits The hiring pay rate is $22.27 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. Compensation model accounts for skill and experience. Pay set in compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
