Must possess skills in laying out, measuring, cutting, erecting and joining materials together. In addition to working in a healthcare setting can be often found working in construction sites, residential buildings and commercial properties.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Performing hands on carpentry skills using hand and power tools as required to complete new/renovation/repair projects.* Follow industry established safety regulations and building codes thereby maintaining a safe work environment* Framing: Construct frameworks for building, including walls, floors and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics and composites of multiple materials.* Performs drywall installation, applying tape, drywall compound, producing a level of smoothness that final finishes can be applied.* Installation: Fits and installs doorframes, doors, door hardware, window frames, windows, cabinets, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob and laser levels.* Finishing: Apply finishes touches such as trim, molding and flooring. Applies paints and/or wall coverings when performing construction, renovation or repairs.* Studies specifications in blueprints, technical sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.* Possess strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.* Coordination of internal and external resources necessary to complete projects timely and efficiently.* Is an integral member of the Plant Operations and Maintenance construction team.* Orders building related materials required for general construction repairs, renovation and construction projects.* Consistently demonstrates the ability to recognize, establish and deal with priorities.* Demonstrates a “needs-no-reminder” attitude after direction has been explained and the assignment is carried out.* Performs assigned preventative maintenance.**SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:*** High School Diploma or equivalent required.* Minimum of five (5) years’ experience of carpentry work is strongly preferred.* Drywall installation and finishing experience are strongly preferred.**Compensation Range**$28.00 - $42.00**Available Benefits for Benefit Eligible Positions**Health and Dental InsuranceIMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund)Retirement Fund (457 and 401A Plan)Medical and Dependent Care Flexible SpendingLife InsuranceShort and Long Term DisabilityOptional InsurancesPaid Time OffTuition Reimbursement and Loan ForgivenessGift Shop DiscountCGH Day Care DiscountCGH Dietary DiscountEmployee Assistance ProgramCGH Pharmacy DiscountCGH Vision Center DiscountThank you for your interest in a career at CGH Medical Center.Extraordinary care.
