Cimarron is seeking a
CNC Machinist
to support our partnership with Firefly Aerospace at their rocket production facility in the Briggs, TX area (Bertram mailing address). In this position, you will be responsible for the fabrication, integration, and delivery of the critical structures for the world’s largest liquid‑fueled all‑composite rocket and other spacecraft.
Through this partnership, Cimarron provides skilled technical talent in support of Firefly Aerospace’s innovative launch and space systems. Firefly develops small‑ to medium‑lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. This team leverages carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across vehicles to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.
Key Duties :
Machine high‑quality parts in accordance with engineering requirements.
Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings and diagrammed work instructions.
Inspect and document manufactured parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Set up machines and make edits as required to support part manufacturing.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times.
Immediately report any safety, equipment, or maintenance concerns to management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work area.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and workmanship, taking pride in all work performed.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
5 or more years of experience operating 5‑axis CNC routers, mills, or similar machine tools.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Ability to excel in a high‑pressure environment with minimal guidance.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Desired Skill, Experience, and Education :
Experience selecting tools and fixtures for cutting composite materials.
3 or more years of experience cutting, routing, and trimming carbon fiber composite materials in aerospace applications.
