This care team member will obtain and record vital signs, provide assistance with personal care and activities of daily living, transport patients, apply orthopedic splints and immobilizers, conduct EKG testing, and other duties delegated to them by licensed personnel. The Emergency Department Technician will also help maintain a safe and efficient patient care environment by stocking supply and linen carts, replacing full sharps containers, cleaning equipment and stretchers, and other duties as assigned by the Manager or their designee.**Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:****EDUCATION**High school diploma, GED or equivalent required**EXPERIENCE**A minimum of one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, or CNA; experience as an Orthopedic Technician is preferred; enrollment in a registered nursing program with completion of at least the first year of instruction may substitute for the required experience.**PREREQUISITE SKILLS**1. Ability to read, speak, write clearly and legible, and understand and follow English verbal and written instructions2. Ability to establish priorities and follow through on assigned tasks3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, team members and other hospital staff4. Knowledge of medical terminology5. Ability to learn current in-house computer systems6. Ability to work effectively as a team member and contribute positively towards the goals of the team and the organization7. Maintain a calm demeanor while working in an atmosphere of conflicting demands**LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:**1. CA phlebotomy license required2. Basic Cardiac Life Support through an American Heart Association (AMA) accredited course required at hire.3.
