The Materials Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking a full‑time lecturer for a two‑year appointment (AY 26/27 and AY 27/28) with a potential one‑year extension to AY 28/29 contingent on budget, departmental need, and satisfactory evaluations. Responsibilities include teaching core and elective materials engineering courses.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching.
Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in materials engineering, materials science, metallurgical engineering, polymer science, ceramic engineering, or a related major.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or potential for excellence.
Experience working with broad populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Relevant professional work experience and professional capabilities.
Special Conditions
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
