The Senior Terminal Scheduler position is responsible for providing and overseeing customer support, tracking day-to-day product movements of multiple customers, managing daily inventories and throughput in a fungible system to maximize terminal utilization, and coordinating the scheduling of the physical supply of product between multiple customers and local terminal operations for an assigned region.

Position Summary The Senior Terminal Scheduler position is responsible for providing and overseeing customer support, tracking day-to-day product movements of multiple customers, managing daily inventories and throughput in a fungible system to maximize terminal utilization, and coordinating the scheduling of the physical supply of product between multiple customers and local terminal operations for an assigned region.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the design and implementation of a Company terminaling scheduling system. Upon implementation, provide ongoing oversight and feedback to ensure the system continues to meet the requirements of the business and its users. Identify and implement process improvements.

Cultivate strong relationships with customers, terminals, and connected facilities and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Serving as the main point of contact; plan and coordinate the movement of product via multiple modes of transport, ensuring proper communication amongst customers, terminal operations, and other identified stakeholders.

Develop and implement nominated and forecasted schedules for the receipt, storage, and distribution of customers products at assigned terminals.

Ensure scheduling practices are in accordance with contract terms and develop allocation processes to manage inventory, as needed.

Utilize third-party product systems, as well as an internal scheduling system, to track inventories/demands and scheduled transportation activity on a daily and monthly basis.

Monitor and track product movements to ensure efficient inventory management and terminal tank utilization.

Provide the Business Development team with updates on perceived transportation conditions, constraints, and other relevant data that help interpret product movements in the physical markets within the assigned region.

Assist the Business Development team in analyzing and assessing new business opportunities.

Facilitate resolution to product quality issues (as economically as possible).

Responsibilities also include working closely with internal commercial, terminal operations, and accounting to ensure the accurate recording of monthly physical and book inventories at each terminal.

Analyze and develop scheduling strategies and processes to enhance and ensure continued efficiency.

Cross train team members on scheduling processes.

Position Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Detailed knowledge of individual supply systems for the assigned region.

Working understanding of midstream operations to include modes of product supply via marine vessel, pipeline, railcar, and truck.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and third parties.

Proficient in data analysis and inventory monitoring systems.

Ability to adapt and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to handle stress, pressure and critical deadlines and to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

High proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to apply intermediate problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues.

Skilled in providing guidance and training to others.

Capable of making process modifications to enhance departmental performance.

Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.

Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Willing and able to work extended and non-standard hours (including being available on call 24/7) based on business need.

Education, Experience, Qualifications

High school diploma / GED is required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Experience in refined products scheduling on interstate pipelines, terminals, rail, and/or marine is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically terminaling, scheduling and/or commercial experience.

Pay & Benefits Hiring Range

$109,000 - $119,000 Annually (DOE)
