About Our Team: At AKABA, we are focused on achieving the goal of home & community with convenience, dignity, safety, and improved health. AKABA is a private and independent agency founded in 2014 in Massachusetts by health care professionals. We work with families with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders in their homes, communities and at our center to provide high quality ABA Services. We use the Science of ABA to implement individualized interventions that help our clients cultivate functional behaviors in a variety of settings by enhancing communication skills and teaching strategies for self-regulation. Our team believes in developing talent and offers opportunities for growth in a diversity of skill sets. We offer online, self-paced access to the Registered Behavior Technician training which also increases the pay rate upon completion.

Overview – ABA Therapist or Behavior Tech or Registered Behavior Technician Under the supervision of a BCBA, the Behavior Technician or ABA Therapist role provides 1-to-1 Applied Behavioral Analysis services to children and young adults (ages 2-22) diagnosed with Autism. Therapy sessions usually run 3-4 hours and primarily take place during after school hours in the client's home, Community, and/or at our Center. Our team focuses on assigning cases as locally as possible (usually within 30 minutes) to your home address or regular school/other work location. Travel time pay and mileage reimbursements are available (when applicable).

Responsibilities of an ABA Therapist / Behavior Technician

Creating a fun and engaging learning environment

Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Working with families for effective collaboration

Submitting all required paperwork in a timely manner

Electronic Data collection

Implementing individualized behavior support plans

Implementing skill acquisition programs

Qualifications of an ABA Therapist / Behavior Tech / Registered Behavior Technician

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Valid Driver's License (Required)

Personal vehicle (Required)

Bachelor's degree, EEC and other certifications are welcomed

Friendly, energetic, and enjoys working with individuals with special needs

Experience working with children

Comfortable going into people's homes and helping families learn how to manage the effects of an Autism diagnosis

Ability to attend an initial orientation

Timely and organized

Ability to work independently

Proven ability to communicate effectively within a variety of situations
