This position is responsible to lead internal construction projects from inception through completion. RESPONSIBILITIES
Point of contact and leader for capital projects and internal construction projects
Define scope, establish timelines, monitor safety and progress, and communicate with all involved parties Obtain 2‑3 bids, qualify bidders, and ensure vendors are approved
Effectively work with contractors and vendors to ensure smooth project flow Able to read drawings with regards to elevations, drainage, and storm water flows Monitor environmental devices and assist with environmental permitting Manage and monitor assets – rolling stock, production equipment, office facilities Assist with maintenance and repairs at all Metromont locations Participate in writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Assist with creation of Capital Asset Expenditures (CAEs) Prepare capital expenditure requests Capable to learn and become an expert in the entire Batch Plant Process Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Works independently with little supervision Reports to the Construction Engineering Manager CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Hands‑on with willingness to get involved in projects as requested Able to meet deadlines Above average ability to manage multiple projects Highly motivated with strong work ethic Demonstrates capability to learn new processes Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization Strong safety mindset Mechanical aptitude Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY
Associate’s degree Construction Engineering or similar required Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred Contractor’s License preferred or ability to obtain Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project required WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE
Spends equal time in office and plant environment Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm; hours may vary while training in production areas and working on projects Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions Travel required to all Metromont locations (50%) PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Safety glasses High‑visibility vest Hearing protection PPE only required with working in the plant PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.
