Position Overview The University's College of Dentistry and affiliated healthcare system are seeking a
Clinical Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
to lead a well-established department with a strong reputation for clinical excellence, education, and research. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon to combine
hands-on clinical practice, program leadership, and academic impact
within a top-tier institution.
Position Highlights
Leadership Role:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the OMFS division, overseeing faculty, residents, and clinical programs.
Integrated Practice:
Collaborate closely with hospital leadership, dental school faculty, and interdisciplinary teams in trauma, oncology, and reconstructive surgery.
Balanced Responsibilities:
Approximately 60% clinical, 20% administrative/leadership, and 20% academic/community engagement or research.
Program Development:
Drive growth in clinical services, teaching, and research initiatives aligned with institutional goals.
Mentorship & Education:
Serve as a role model for residents and fellows, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications
DDS/DMD degree with completion of an ADA-accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency.
Board-certified (or board-eligible) by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Eligible for dental licensure in the State of Kentucky.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in academic or hospital-based practice, with demonstrated leadership in education, administration, or clinical operations.
