Role Overview: The Gate Inspector will inspect each and every tank that leaves the facility for defects, damages, placards, and making sure the correct tank is leaving the facility.
Position Responsibilities:
Checking tanks as they are transported into and out of the facility to ensure that all defects and damages are noted for liability purposes
Ensure that the correct tanks are leaving the facility for transport, and to serve as a last quality control check prior to transport to the customer
Conduct walk‑around inspections of tanks as they leave the facility to determine any defects or damages before the tank is delivered to the customer
Compares the tank numbers on customer work orders to the actual tank numbers to ensure that the correct tank is being delivered
Acts as the last step in the quality control process and will handle other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong attention to detail to have the ability to perform high‑quality inspections to note defects & damages
Experience in the trucking and/or intermodal transportation industry
Basic computer knowledge (G‑Suite knowledge preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
