The Mammographer is responsible for performing high-quality mammographic imaging procedures while ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of day-to-day MQSA regulatory requirements and contribute to maintaining accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following established protocols.
Ensure compliance with MQSA regulations and documentation requirements.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs.
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures with care and professionalism.
Operate and maintain mammography equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in quality assurance and control activities.
Required Qualifications
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and Mammography.
Knowledge of MQSA regulatory requirements and compliance procedures.
Experience in performing mammographic imaging in a clinical setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
