We are currently hiring someone to join our Logistics Staff. The position is, 30 hours per week, non-exempt, and benefits eligible. Pay for this position is $18.00 per hour.

Job Summary The Logistics Staff Driver is responsible for an array of operations for the food shelf and the facility. Approximately 12 hours per week, this role performs Food Rescue by ensuring timely collection of food and other donations. Much of the remaining time is spend greeting volunteers, donors, and program participants daily, demonstrating PRISM's commitment to high-quality customer service.

Along with other team members, Logistics Staff maintains a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and food distribution area. PRISM staff are cross-trained and actively help other programs and departments.

Work Schedule Monday 8am-2pm

Tuesday 8am-2pm

Wednesday 8am-2pm

Thursday 11am – 5pm

Friday 8am to 2 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet & welcome food shelf participants

Perform food rescues using box truck (non-CDL), especially when volunteers are unavailable to do so.

Provide information or direction about how someone can choose food in the food shelf

Check out' food shelf visitors and record information accurately

Ensure the shelves are stocked and neatly presented

Rotate product, check expiration dates, sort donations, and ensure safety and quality of food shelf items

Pack bags of refrigerated and frozen food for distribution

Break down boxes, take out garbage, recycling, and compost, as needed

Maintain a clean and safe physical environment; report needs to the appropriate staff

Receive donations from community members with professionalism and kindness

Load and unload pallets, boxes, and bags from donors and vendors

Use a pallet jack to move stock

Work alongside a wide variety of volunteers, giving them direction and feedback for optimum teamwork

Support interior and exterior maintenance of the facility, including snow removal, ground maintenance, repairs, etc.

Communicate needs and challenges with supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

A valid driver's license and clean driving record

Basic computer and internet skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

1+ years of experience in a warehouse environment

Strong emotional intelligence and customer service skills

Experience working in a nonprofit setting

Experience serving people in poverty, people with disabilities, or a similar population

Ability to be flexible

Strong verbal communication skills

A great sense of humor

Ability to speak Spanish, Hmong, or Russian strongly preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Ability to safely and regularly lift and carry 50 pounds

Standing for long periods of time

Frequent walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling

Work indoors, outdoors, at the loading dock, and in an overall busy environment
