The Quality Specialist position drives, coordinates and performs activities associated with the Supplier Quality Assurance/Control programs. Provide quality assistance to accomplish short-term/long-term business and product objectives. Assist with APQP activities by performing product measurements and recording for dimensional analysis. Additionally, the Quality Specialist will provide support for the quality department as needed to drive actions to completion in day‑to‑day operations, including involvement in PEAK systems. This position is set in a fast‑paced, high volume, manufacturing environment. It involves significant interaction with other Newell Rubbermaid facilities, team members in the manufacturing facility and customers.

Responsibilities

Support resolution for disposition of nonconforming purchased product within Winchester

Communicate all purchased product nonconformances to pertinent personnel

Coordinate rework activity of purchased product within Winchester, including activity reports

Request temporary labor as required and approved to support product rework/sort activity, or any other activity deemed necessary

Gather and analyze quality information to prepare and present reports

Track and report chargeback information to finance

Track key internal Supplier Quality Metrics

Lead Quality Topics in New Hire Orientation Training

Drive problem‑solving initiatives as required, providing quality assistance to support Quality Assurance initiatives

Assist the PEAK team through system ownership and involvement

Identify and implement cost, quality and productivity improvements

Assist in lab software documentation maintenance

Perform product dimensional measurements using various measurement devices

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 3‑5 years plant/operations experience. Supplier quality experience preferred.

Experienced background in various types of manufacturing. Specific knowledge in plastics, metals, or wood commodities is preferred.

Strong quantitative, analytical and process skills are required.

Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.

Good presentation skills to effectively share success and ideas.

MS Office software skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Able to work with minimum supervision.

High energy, self‑motivated, enthusiastic, well organized.

Able to work in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability and working knowledge of Cpk, GR&R, Control Plans, and other Continuous Improvement Process tools.

Familiarity with product measurement tools (height stand, micrometers, calipers, CMM‑type equipment, etc.) and general knowledge of part blueprints/drawings.
