We’re recruiting to hire an energetic and enthusiastic individual for a Component Quality Inspector I role in Peabody, MA. Reporting to the Component Quality Supervisor, you will work in a fast‑paced electronics distribution center/laboratory and support the activities of our Trading Business Unit.
The Component Quality Inspector provides ongoing support to our customers by ensuring the prompt, accurate, and efficient delivery and receipt of all sales and purchase orders. You will verify records on all incoming and outgoing shipments and perform data entry using a PC to process orders and log inventory.
What You’ll Be Doing
Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
Extract items from staging rack and count items to verify packaging and shipping accordingly.
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Perform inbound inspection of electronic components using basic inspection equipment (microscope), counting and picking/packing equipment.
Use Excel‑based inspection checklists to enter results of visual inspection.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; route items to the proper departments.
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Data‑entry on the PC to include processing orders and logging in/out inventory.
Create shipping labels for outbound shipments.
Review compliance and shipping documents.
Accept additional responsibilities as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
2 years of relevant work experience.
Forklift experience.
Cycle counting.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Strong attention to detail for written documentation.
Ability to follow written directions.
Basic knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
Reading, writing, and understanding of English language.
Comfortable standing and walking for considerable lengths of time; bending to floor level required; heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) required.
Ability to work under high productivity and quality standards.
Team player with individual contributor potential.
Impeccable attendance required.
Respectful and communicative; maintain cleanliness.
Available to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as needed.
Preferred previous distribution experience.
Prior experience with handling electronic components beneficial.
Works in an ESD‑safe environment; ESD heel straps, wristbands, and smock will be supplied and expected to be worn.
Work Arrangement
Fully office (in‑person) location.
Shift: Mon‑Fri 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Overtime may be required.
