Job Summary:
The Float Pool Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various departments and units within the healthcare facility. This position requires a versatile nurse who can adapt to different clinical environments, demonstrate excellent nursing skills, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in diverse settings, including Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, ICU, Family Birth Center, and more. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patients' individual needs and established protocols. Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and respond to emergencies promptly. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies. Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care. Serve as a resource for nursing staff and assist with training new team members. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in all clinical environments. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care. Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with relevant experience. Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting; float pool experience is a plus. BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications may be required depending on the area of float. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Current RN license in the State of Oregon; ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required. Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty may be preferred. Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Infusion pumps, and other medical equipment, computer terminal printer, photocopier, and patient charts. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to provide care for the patient\'s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and transfer patients, with or without assistance. Manual dexterity for handling medical equipment and performing nursing tasks. Working Conditions
Fast-paced clinical environment with fluctuating workloads. Exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios.
