Plant Manager
Oversee daily plant operation activities ensuring cost effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy of processing, high product quality, and workplace safety for the production team.
Manage staff to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient environmental compliance, equipment, furnace and facility maintenance, and processing of soiled products across wash, dry, and bundling aisles. Monitor production levels and adjust proactively to meet output targets, maintain quality standards, and keep Plant Center Management team informed of operational issues.
Responsibilities
Safety
– Ensure consistent management and application of safety tasks and activities across the market center.
Plant Management
– Manage day‑to‑day production plant operations, ensuring processing occurs safely, timely, and cost‑effectively. Responsibilities include:
Wastewater / Environmental Compliance
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
Receiving and soil sorting/classification
Wash aisle operations
Garment finishing / sortation
Allied finishing
Bundling and distribution
Set and ensure plant operation goals are met for efficient, timely, high‑quality, and profitable completion of activities for a given product.
Supervise maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, cost‑effective review of equipment, energy, and wastewater processing.
Collaborate with market center management to identify and implement systems and methods that improve safety, operating efficiency, and meet cost constraints.
Analyze and react to production aspects of market center profit and loss statements, working with the GM to proactively improve results.
Responsible for hiring, placement, and removal of production plant operations staff.
Minimum Education & Experience
Post‑secondary education (four years suggested) in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Business, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Four to six years experience in a corporate production environment with management responsibilities.
Documented record of increasing responsibility with business results.
Ability to build effective professional relationships across departments within a market center and operations support.
Preferred Education & Experience
Degree in Management, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Business, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, and willingness to handle ambiguous circumstances.
Experience with quality program standards such as Lean or Six Sigma an asset.
Demonstrated competency for the position.

Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective processing and distribution of laundry and linen products.
