Job Overview The Youth Specialist Supervisor (YSS) 11 position functions in a supervisory capacity at the Michigan Youth Training Center (MYTC), providing direct supervision for the Youth Specialist 7, 8, and E9 staff. Duties vary by shift and may include supervising intake operations and intake personnel, selecting and training new staff, evaluating staff performance, taking corrective action, and tracking inventory.

Education Requirements Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with a minimum of 15 semester (23 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, family and/or child development, counseling and guidance, criminal justice, community services, family studies, counseling psychology, human services, education, early childhood education, secondary education, or special education.

Experience Requirements Four years of experience equivalent to a Youth Specialist, including two years equivalent to a Youth Specialist E9 or one year equivalent to a Youth Specialist 10.

This position is located at the Michigan Youth Training Center (MYTC) at 400 N. Rose Street, Mt. Clemens, MI.

Work Environment Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:

A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.

A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
