3rd Shift Value Stream Team Leader We have an exciting opening for a 3rd Shift Value Stream Team Leader in Richland, MI. The Value Stream Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising the operation of one or more plant value streams under the direction of the Value Stream Manager. The role implements the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, and reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead associates; make employment decisions and assess performance for the assigned plant value stream(s).
Meet with Value Stream associates regularly.
Lead the plant value stream(s) in daily operations and continuous improvements, including supply chain, production control, manufacturing priorities, and coordination between all shifts.
Assist the Value Stream Manager to create continuous product flow, utilize pull systems and level the workload.
Ensure standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments implemented, and the area complies with safety and 5S requirements.
Instill and maintain a positive team atmosphere, hold regular team meetings and coordinate support activities with other departments.
Use PDCA with Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results.
Provide effective cross‑training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams.
Encourage the team to stop and fix problems to get quality right the first time.
Work with the Value Stream Manager to develop the future‑state value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
3‑5 years of management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge of accounting practices, PC skills, human resource management and inventory control.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Demonstrated teamwork and team‑building skills; ability to assess and develop individual and team capabilities.
Ability to create and maintain enthusiasm for challenges.
Serve as a model by promoting safety, new ideas and positive change.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with LEAN teams or leading LEAN teams is preferred.
