Aircraft Structural Technician
Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structural Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role you will perform classified heavy modifications on various fixed‑wing military aircraft and contribute to protecting the American warfighter by integrating cutting‑edge technology onto military aircraft. This position does not require clearance on day one; the necessary clearance will be facilitated within 2–6 weeks.
Responsibilities
Perform classified heavy modifications on various fixed‑wing military aircraft.
Conduct service extensions, depot level maintenance, and other C/D level heavy checks.
Work with airframes including U-28 (Pilatus PC-12), C-147 (DHC-8/Q200/Q300/Q400), C-146 (Dornier 328), C-145 (M-28 Skytruck), and A-29 (Super Tucano).
Essential Skills
Experience with aircraft airframe, blueprint schematics, and sheet metal.
Proficiency in aircraft modification and depot level maintenance.
Strong skills in aviation heavy maintenance, sheet metal fabrication, and aircraft maintenance repair.
Ability to use rivet guns and perform sheet metal repair.
Experience in blueprint reading and aviation modification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Own tools and a shadowed toolbox with tools etched or colored by Day 1.
Stable job history with minimal job hopping.
Pass a basic sheet metal test on Day One.
6+ years of aviation structures (sheet metal) experience if only military; at least 3+ years total if civilian experience is included.
Eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance through Aerotek.
Compliance with FAA Drug Test and a 7‑year background check.
Work Environment Work in a climate‑controlled FAA‑regulated hangar. Shifts vary; most positions are on the 1st shift with occasional 2nd shift periods. The schedule may include four ten‑hour days or five eight‑hour days, with rare weekend work. Overtime is often available based on program needs, though not guaranteed. Contractors can go direct after six months and receive full medical benefits through Aerotek.

Pay and Benefits Pay range: $40.00–$40.00/hr.
