We are looking for an
Inventory Planner
to join our Rexel team in Missouri City, TX!
Summary The Inventory Planner is responsible for evaluating inventory levels and adjust ERP settings to obtain inventory, replenishment, and customer service goals for the region. The Inventory Planner oversees the management of unproductive inventory by working across regions to coordinate transferring inventory and coordinates supplier returns within the region.
What You'll Do
Monitor inventory budgets/KPIs and adjusts inventory settings to achieve regional goals
Explain and instruct the following purchasing practices and philosophies: Review items for purchase, initiate changes as identified, initiate parameter adjustments as needed in conjunction with Region and Procurement leadership, vendor metrics, negotiating, monitoring and maintaining
Identify areas for improvement and develops solutions related to replenishment failures
Effectively present and discuss corporate inventory management goals and guidelines including: inventory goals, turns and/or day investment, major vendor changes
Instruct associates directly responsible for purchasing, inventory management/Inventory control, all other aspects of divisional procurement
Travel as necessary to accomplish the following tasks: vendor/ Mfg rep alignments, branch associate training, HQ meetings (as necessary), branch/vendor rapport
Manage unproductive inventory by working across regions to coordinate transferring inventory and coordinates supplier returns within the region
Communicate consistently and timely with associates to keep them advised of current issues, initiatives, and pertinent topics. Communicates regularly with branch associates via conference call, web casts, e-mails/newsletters, and/or on-site visits
Provide strategic procurement and sales related reports as requested
Ensure compliance to all laws and Rexel USA policies and procedures
Consistently display a customer service attitude toward the branches and develops a rapport with DVP, function Divisional Managers, Area Managers, and all branch and sales associates
Comfortable with all aspects of vendor relations including: Negotiating local/regional programs, resolving vendor/rep/branch disputes, communicating corporate expectations of our partner vendors and programs with said vendors, and communicating the relationship between our partner vendors and the Hub Network
Department awareness; looks for opportunities to offer advice and training

Qualifications
4+ years of supply chain management or procurement/buyer experience
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent - Required
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Advanced proficiency in both Eclipse and Replenishment Applications
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products
Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers
Ability to perform effectively and independently in a virtual environment
Must be able to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion and program priorities
Strong problem-solving skills
Solid mathematical skills
Work overtime as needed
