CSO is looking for a Relief Shift Supervisor for our shelter, Friends of the Homeless, in Northampton. The Shelter Shift Supervisor will oversee, facilitate and coordinate the activities of staff during the hours of shelter operation. This position works with management and staff to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for shelter's guests.
Starting Pay: $21.00/hour
You Will
Review shelter files, notes, records, reports, logs, medication records and other documentation for accuracy, completeness and use of proper procedures as defined by the agency's policy.
Prepare and maintain various reports such as progress reports, update records; collect, prepare and deliver required reports, records and documentation to appropriate administrative department in a timely manner.
Support interviews, hiring and training for employees as needed and in collaboration with supervisor; supervise assigned staff, explaining and ensuring compliance with program's shelter policies, procedures and regulations.
Assess staffing needs and plan, develop and coordinate appropriate training.
Support the schedule development and staff work assignments. Work with supervisor, plan and evaluate employee's performance.
Provide guidance for all other routine employee related matters within the shelter.
Your Background
Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or one to two years related experience with the homeless or at‑risk population.
Knowledge of de‑escalation (conflict resolution) methods, communication and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Knowledge of community and social agencies for the homeless.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
