Location: West Deptford, New Jersey****Job purpose**To lead the efforts and develop the skills of our Process Engineering team at Johnson Matthey’s West Deptford NJ facility.To provide the Process Engineering team leadership in improving existing processes, equipment and techniques in safety, quality and efficiency performance.
Incumbent will work directly with Controls, Operations, Capital Engineering, Process Safety, Maintenance and Group Engineering Teams to accomplish these goals.To provide the Process Engineering team leadership in implementing new processes and equipment to improve our safety, quality and efficiency performance.
Incumbent will work directly with Controls, Operations, Capital Engineering, Process Safety, Maintenance and Group Engineering Teams to accomplish these goals.**Principal accountabilities****Technical Oversight and Support*** Work closely with area supervision to support operational needs.* Monitor and report process and equipment performance (OEE).* Troubleshoot and identify corrective measures when issues occur.* Conduct safety walks and report observations.* Perform periodic review of procedures and make revisions where required.**Process Improvement*** Collect and analyse process data using established tools and methods.* Develop design concepts.* Evaluate alternative technologies.* Conduct plant trials.* Prepare cost and benefit estimates.* Present recommendations and proposals.* Prepare change documentation and procedures.* Conduct training.* Participate on cross-functional chartered action teams to address specific issues or tasks.**Capital Project Support*** Work with project teams on development of PFD’s, P&ID’s, material and equipment specifications, functional control descriptions, and operating procedures.* Assist project teams with commissioning, start-up, and hand-over.* Manage small capital projects.**Process Safety & Risk Management*** Participate in process hazard reviews.* Conduct incident investigations and determine corrective actions through root cause analysis.* Implement corrective actions.* Implement Management of Change process as needed to accomplish the above accountabilities.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with a minimum five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment OR any equivalent relevant combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work* Process and equipment troubleshooting skills as it relates to reactor systems and Unit Operations. Ability to interpret PFDs and P&IDs.* Basic knowledge of PLC programming.* Experience with chemical process equipment, including: level transmitters and switches, temperature measurement, automated valves, VFDs, and sensors.* Team leadership experience is desirablePlease note that occasional weekend work may be expected within this role.**What we offer:**We make sure salaries are fair, competitive and aligned to individual roles, experience and responsibilities.
