Position Summary The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for operating MHEs to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count items. Computer data entry is required for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance. The Associate assists the supervisor/manager in ensuring the facility complies with quality standards and meets performance, safety, and quality objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain accurate warehouse inventory.

Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues.

Return material from customer to factory and transfer material to the appropriate area.

Relocate material to maintain inventory range and locations.

Operating equipment safely and independently, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management.

Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Maintain records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.

Conduct physical inventories as required; assist with daily/monthly in‑house cycle counts.

Perform safety audits per operation requirements; report and correct unsafe operations.

Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings as required; assist supervision as needed.

Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports as required.

Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities related to product, process, and quality system; record problems; recommend solutions; verify implementation.

Review/investigate issues with inbound/outbound functions including unloading, checking, stacking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, and loading. Ship material to factory upon client requests; notify management when procedures require updates.

Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits per operation requirements.

Other Duties (Site Specific)

Assist leadership as needed.

Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required.

Participate in cross‑training matrix activities to support other departments.

Work overtime as dictated by business needs, mandatory or voluntary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

6 months in a logistics/distribution/related environment.

Ability to operate MHE.

Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.

Certification:

Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.

Language Skills:

English (reading, writing, verbal).

Mathematical Skills:

Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities and inventory counts.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy; timely task completion.

Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years’ experience in an inventory department.

1-3 years forklift experience.

Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands Occasionally:

Hand & Finger manipulation, Sitting, Handling product and/or packaging materials.

Frequently:

Bending.

Constantly:

Walking and Standing.

Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel.

Work Environment The employee may be exposed to low to moderate noise, rarely to fumes or airborne particles. Work environment generally has minimal exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
