Solder Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Solder Technician to join our team and perform a variety of electrical assembly operations. You will be involved in wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, component integration, PCB assembly rework, and repair operations. Your role will include integrating electrical subsystems into ruggedized enclosures and chassis, applying conformal coating, and conducting electrical testing.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical assembly operations including wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, and component integration.

Execute PCB assembly rework and repair operations following documented procedures.

Integrate electrical subsystems into ruggedized enclosures and chassis.

Apply conformal coating and potting operations as required.

Conduct electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional verification.

Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.

Execute test procedures and document results with full traceability.

Perform in‑circuit and functional testing of assembled electronics.

Maintain detailed assembly and test records in accordance with AS9100 requirements.

Follow IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 acceptance criteria for all assembly operations.

Implement IPC‑J‑STD‑001 Class 3 soldering standards.

Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

Maintain traceability of components and assemblies per aerospace requirements.

Follow work instructions, manufacturing travelers, and engineering drawings.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Support MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data entry and process compliance.

Collaborate with engineering on design for manufacturability feedback.

Essential Skills

Experience in requirements management, test requirements, mechanical assembly, wire harness assembly, and PCB Assembly.

Proficiency in soldering, including experience with 0201 components.

Expertise with IPC‑J‑STD‑001, SMT soldering techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical certification.

2‑3 years of hands‑on experience in electronics assembly and testing.

Experience in aerospace, defense, or high‑reliability electronics manufacturing preferred.

Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 standards for electronic assemblies.

Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems for Aerospace.

IPC‑A‑610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT).

IPC‑J‑STD‑001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS).

IPC‑7711/7721 Rework and Repair certification.

Knowledge of ESD S20.20 Electrostatic Discharge Control Program.

Work Environment This position requires working onsite in Northridge, CA. You will be part of a dynamic team focusing on payloads development for low orbiting satellites. The role involves working in a high‑tech environment with advanced equipment and technologies.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
