Our team is growing, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk and deliver outstanding client service in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Greet clients and patients warmly upon arrival, efficiently handle check-in and check-out processes, including processing payments, reviewing invoices, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Answer incoming phone calls with a professional and empathetic sales approach to appointment scheduling, promoting wellness plans, preventive care, and recommended services to support pet health. Scan, organize, and properly handle medical records to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and easy access for the veterinary team. Receive and communicate lab results to clients clearly and compassionately, while coordinating with the medical team for timely follow-ups. Multitask effectively in a busy environment, managing multiple phone lines, client inquiries, and administrative duties simultaneously. Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area and assist with general administrative tasks as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications
Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — with the ability to interact compassionately with clients, often during emotional or stressful situations. Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail in a high-volume setting. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, procedures, and common medications. Experience using a sales-oriented approach when handling appointment calls and recommending services. Proficiency in scanning documents and proper handling/updating of medical records (experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone or similar is a plus). Comfortable working with cats and dogs, and able to remain calm in a dynamic animal hospital environment. Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a customer service role (preferably in a medical or veterinary setting) is strongly preferred; we are willing to train the right candidate. High school diploma or equivalent required.
