Position Purpose
With a focus on providing superior customer service and leading a successful bakery team, the Asst. Bakery Team Lead is someone who strives to meet department goals and objectives while providing customers with product expertise and the freshest, tastiest, and best quality bakery products.
Responsibilities An Asst. Bakery Team Lead is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast‑paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
Directing bakery department personnel to meet department goals and objectives
Managing the bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty
Communicating directly with the bakery team lead, store director, and bakery specialist
Ordering supplies and products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels
Merchandising bakery goods in accordance with bakery merchandising standards
Executing and supporting all sales and merchandising initiatives
Serving as the leader of the department, role‑model, coach, performance evaluator, and trainer for the team
Ensuring department and team compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
Understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement, as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
Keeping a clean, neat, and orderly sales counter and work production areas
Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
Taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customers’ satisfaction
All other related duties as assigned
Physical Demands Standing, Sitting, Lifting (up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, Bending.
