The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. This position performs housekeeping tasks in day/work program areas, Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF), and non‑residential buildings at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge (ATPC).
Job Duties
Strips, mops, and waxes tile or linoleum floors; disinfects and maintains all floor finishes; cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; replenishes supplies; scrubs walls, cleans windowpane and sills, vacuums carpets, empties trash receptacles, and ensures sanitary conditions. Wipes/disinfects doors, door handles, and other items which may spread germs.
Dusts furniture, equipment, walls, and light fixtures; disinfects all dining room furniture and other surfaces; cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
Cleans kitchen and dining room after each meal in ICF and day/work program areas.
Sanitizes equipment (wheelchairs) and sorts soiled laundry.
Pressure washes and cleans front entrance, walkways, patios and patio furniture.
Knowledge
Proper use and maintenance of various cleaning equipment such as floor machines, vacuums, carpet cleaners, waxing machines and buffers.
Types, usage and mixing of chemicals and various cleaning supplies.
Cleaning procedures and infection‑control principles.
Safety procedures for various tasks and use of equipment.
Types of stains.
Skills
Operating floor machines and vacuums.
Time management.
Ability
Read and write in English.
Understand and follow spoken and written directions.
Be self‑motivated and communicate with staff.
Report sanitation issues.
Learn and perform proper lifting techniques.
Learn and follow sanitary and safety standards relating to disease and infection control.
Learn and use computer systems (e.g., timesheet entry, computer‑based trainings).
Selective Preference(s)
Housekeeping experience.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41‑1968.
Background check including a search of the Department of Child Safety Central Registry and the Adult Protective Services Registry.
Post‑offer medical/physical examination and accommodation of any restrictions.
Employment contingent upon completion of the above processes and the agency’s ability to accommodate restrictions.
Successful completion of the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
Driver’s license requirements if driving is essential to the job.
