Job Description Summary / TWC Summary JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision supervises and instructs children enrolled in the University’s Parent-Child Learning Laboratory (PCLL) to promote development of social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.
This is a Grant Funded position.
Essential Duties Summary
Prepares lesson plans and develops activities for the academic, social, and physical development of children.
Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care to promote independence.
Monitors and evaluates progress of students. Communicates with parents concerning the individual needs of child and curriculum progress.
Assists the Director with center activities.
Maintains files of attendance records, academic progress, and other documentation on assigned students.
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
% FTE 1.0
Hiring Range $15.50-$19.76
Education High School diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent and specialized or technical training
Required Licensing/Certification
CPR and First‑aid certification.
Preferred
CDA certification.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of
Federal, State, Local, and County laws.
Childcare policies, practices, procedures, and regulations.
Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Skill In
Problem‑solving and decision‑making.
Multitasking and time management.
Both verbal and written communication.
Ability to
Work independently.
Prepare detailed plans.
Maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment, or water treatment system.
Work Experience One (1) to three (3) years related experience.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Reach and grasp objects.
Stoop, bend, kneel, and lift.
Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skill.
Communicate information verbally and in writing.
Carry objects of light weight.
Sitting or standing in one location.
Receive and understand information through verbal and written communication.
Proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Work a fluctuating work schedule.
