Role: Patient Companion Volunteer Are you compassionate, empathetic, and looking for a meaningful way to give back? As a Patient Companion Volunteer, you’ll provide invaluable emotional support and companionship to our patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, or care settings. Your presence can bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection during a challenging time.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer friendly visits, conversation, and a listening ear to patients

Engage in light activities such as reading aloud, playing games or cards, listening to music, sharing stories, or simply sitting together

Provide respite for family caregivers, giving them a much-needed break

Assist with non‑medical tasks like light errands, letter writing, or enjoying hobbies together (no personal care or medication administration)

Help create moments of peace and normalcy for patients and families

Qualifications and Requirements:

Compassionate and reliable with strong listening skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Must be 18 years or older

Pass a background check, TB test, and drug screening (provided at no cost)

Complete our comprehensive volunteer training program (including orientation on hospice care, communication, and boundaries)

Flexible commitment: As little as 1–2 hours per week, scheduled around your availability
