ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY This position is responsible for:
Assists in picking‑up donations by riding in a Salvation Army truck and lifting, carrying, and/or hauling donations into the truck and unloading the same at the warehouse; assists in navigating for the Truck Driver; ensures the accountability, security, and safety of the donations when in route; assists in maintaining the vehicle in proper working order and in compliance with established standards
Key Responsibilities
Rides in a Salvation Army truck on a scheduled route in order to pick‑up donated items; assists in navigating driver to destinations by reading a map and/or hand‑written directions.
Inspects donated items briefly to ensure they can be used according to established policies and procedures; explains policy to customers regarding the types of items that can be accepted.
Lifts, carries, and/or hauls donations into truck; packs items in truck in a manner that maximizes use of space, protects items from damage, and ensures safety.
Prepares donation receipts for customers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
Unloads donations from truck upon arrival at warehouse; distributes items to appropriate locations in the warehouse.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Manual dexterity. Ability to sit, walk, and stand on a frequent change basis in order to perform the duties of this position. Ability to lift objects weighing between 25-50 lbs. Must be self‑directed with ability to tolerate frequent interruptions.
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
No formal education required.
Six months experience lifting and hauling heavy items such as appliances and furniture, OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Driver’s License and eligible driver status under TSA Driver Program
