The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen located in the Homeland area of Baltimore, seeks candidates for a temporary Front Desk Receptionist. This is a part‑time, non‑benefit eligible position that will last for one year. The Front Desk Receptionist will provide receptionist services and clerical support for the parish office. The weekly hours are 28.

Essential Functions

Represent the Cathedral and wider Church to the public by projecting a courteous, warm, welcoming, and empathetic image and presence to visitors, volunteers, parishioners, staff, and parish vendors.

Welcome and direct visitors to the cathedral offices appropriately.

Receive and direct general phone calls appropriately and convey voicemail messages to the appropriate staff as needed.

Receive and direct requests for pastoral care visits such as Communion Calls, Anointing of the Sick, Last Rites, etc. with pastoral care and sensitivity, notifying appropriate clergy or volunteers in a timely fashion.

Answer routine questions to assist staff, volunteers, parishioners, and parish vendors.

Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages. Prepare mailings as needed.

Process requests and payments for Mass intentions and Mass cards.

Fulfill requests for sacramental certificates as needed.

Perform office opening and closing procedures as directed.

Position Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience in a receptionist role in a professional environment or similar role preferred

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills

Must maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor in all situations

Must possess general knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and Parish workings

Basic level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products

Pay Range $16.00 - $18.00, Hourly
