This posting is for candidates who would like to be considered for any and all 10 month Teacher on Special Assignment openings at OUSD.

Compensation

We are looking for passionate and dedicated educators to join us in creating joyful healing and liberatory spaces of learning for Oakland students, families, and communities.

What we offer teachers Oakland Unified has received substantial funding to support Grow Our Own pathway programs, including Classified‑to‑Teacher, the Oakland Teacher Residency, and the Salesforce Recruitment & Retention Initiative for Middle Schools.
We invest in affinity spaces, professional development, mentorship, and more.
We accept up to twelve years of full‑time teaching experience on the salary schedule.
Full medical, dental, and vision benefits with Flexible Spending Accounts, life insurance, and long‑term disability coverage at no cost to full‑time teachers.
Retirement benefits through CALSTRS.
BCLAD stipend – $3,000 with a valid BCLAD or bilingual authorization.

Create a safe, welcoming, and liberating classroom grounded in restorative justice.
Use data to assess progress and personalize learning.

Qualifications Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, be eligible for employment in the U.S., and pass a criminal background check.
They must possess or be willing to earn a California teaching credential and have two current professional references, including one from a previous supervisor.
