Kennesaw State University is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Kitchen Support
team member to assist in daily food service operations. This role supports kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards to provide a positive dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM $13.50hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, dishes, and utensils
Operate dishwashing equipment and properly store clean items
Dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste in accordance with university and health regulations
Restock supplies, utensils, and food items as needed
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries
Support special events, catering services, and peak service periods as assigned
Perform additional duties as required to support dining operations
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred (not required for student positions)
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety practices (training provided)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a college or institutional dining setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Dependable and punctual
Ability to stand for extended periods
