Job Summary
We are hiring immediately for full‑time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions at Spelman College, 350 Spelman Lane Southwest, Atlanta, Georgia 30314. Online applications only. The position is full‑time, requiring full availability including nights and weekends. Fixed pay rate is $15.60 per hour. Prior food service experience is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure ingredients.
Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
Store foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
Relay relevant information to supervisor.
Perform sales transactions, enter sales into the cash register, make change, accept declining balance cards and other payment methods, issue receipts, and follow procedures for issuing cash refunds.
Maintain the cash drawer in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
