Overview TEKsystems Inc. is looking for a reliable and skilled Telecommunications Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom systems. This role begins as a 6-month contract with the potential to become a long-term position. You'll receive full benefits, professional support, and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and cabling.
Perform routine system checks and troubleshoot network or connectivity issues.
Configure and program telecom devices such as routers, switches, VoIP phones, and PBX systems.
Work with team members to ensure smooth and reliable network performance.
Provide hands‑on technical support to end-users and resolve service issues.
Keep accurate records of equipment, service calls, and installation activities.
Follow all safety guidelines and industry standards.
Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in the telecom field.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
Previous experience in telecommunications, low‑voltage cabling, or a related field.
Knowledge of Cat5/Cat6 cabling, routers, switches, and basic networking.
Familiarity with VoIP systems, PBX setups, and common network protocols.
>Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
