As a
Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) , you'll play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of students in
Grades K-12
by providing tailored clinical and educational interventions designed to meet each learner’s unique needs. You’ll lead with expertise, guiding and mentoring your team through hands-on training and professional development, while consistently evaluating and elevating their performance. As our primary advocate for quality assurance, you'll ensure our programs not only comply with applicable laws and regulations but also reflect best practices and internal standards, fostering an environment where students thrive and achieve lasting success.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
Delivering comprehensive training and continuous guidance to teachers and educational staff in designing impactful Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and quality of academic instruction and behavioral support services provided to students, ensuring exceptional outcomes.
Supporting ChanceLight staff by modeling, reinforcing, and enhancing instructional best practices to promote student growth aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Assessing professional development needs of educational team members; researching, creating, and delivering targeted, impactful training programs tailored to identified skill gaps and improvement areas.
Engaging proactively in staff development initiatives, including attending educational conferences, specialized professional training sessions, and seminars to continuously enhance professional skills and competencies.
Training, certifying, and consistently coaching school staff in effective crisis prevention and management strategies, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
Assisting in recruitment activities, hiring processes, new staff orientation, and ongoing professional training for behavior specialists and related educational staff.
Researching, evaluating, and recommending evidence-based curricula, teaching methodologies, and instructional resources aligned with educational standards and organizational objectives.
Developing, implementing, and supervising systems designed to address and effectively support the unique academic and behavioral needs of individual students, classrooms, and the educational site as a whole.
Participating actively in required meetings, including school team meetings, interdisciplinary collaborations, and all-staff professional gatherings.
Conducting systematic and ongoing quality assurance assessments at student, classroom, staff, and site levels, offering detailed feedback and strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
Ensuring consistent adherence to Department of Education guidelines, as well as Spectrum's internal standards and policies for educational excellence and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned to support organizational goals and student success.
‖ Qualifications Required:
Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral health, special education or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a CA state special education instruction credential preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in providing behavioral support, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), data-based decision making, functional behavior assessment (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's).
Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
Proven success in developing and implementing effective intervention plans for students with diverse needs.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
Prior experience and/or highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention procedures.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
