Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator II to join our dynamic Fabrication department at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation and maintenance of various metal structures and components, playing a crucial part in our production process.
Schedule Monday through Friday 3:00PM to 11:30PM.
Duties
Train less experienced staff to set up and manually operate the CNC equipment to produce complex parts to specification.
Train others about manufacturability. Promptly share relevant information with stakeholders.
Improve processes and capable of executing required maintenance activities.
Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Understand. Create. Simplify.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Trade school degree or 6 years of shop experience
Advanced experience in the field required
Proficient with applicable computer software as relevant
Service attitude, quality and OTP for internal customer
Strong math skills
Ability to accurately measure parts
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to teach and learn new skills, open to take on new responsibilities, and train others
Ability to motivate others to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Pull weight from high/low shelves
