Service Electrician / Generator Technician Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses across the U.S. We are seeking a Service Electrician / Generator Technician to join a thriving business that values work‑life balance and cares about its employees.

Description As a Service Electrician / Generator Technician you will manage and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, focusing on residential systems and generator services. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues, installing and servicing generator systems, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and codes, and interacting with customers to diagnose problems and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities

Understand and work with electricity, electrical systems, motor control systems, and process control instrumentation.

Conduct maintenance, service, and repairs across plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical systems.

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.

Perform light maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC/R units.

Support the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards or defects and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, particularly in lighting circuits.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience with generator systems.

Extensive knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.

Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.

Physical capability to perform job duties and availability for overtime, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Well‑organized with strong task prioritization skills.

Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.

Ability to drive.

Working in indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, both in person and by telephone.

Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.

Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.

Regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, or snow.
