The Electrician installs, connects, and tests electrical wiring systems on heavy trucks, ensuring proper operation in each unit. Responsibilities include working from blueprints, pulling wires, mounting equipment, conducting functional tests, and troubleshooting issues while maintaining a safe work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install and connect various electric wiring systems. Install rough electrical conductors and boxes according to blueprints. Pull wires and harnesses through chassis or body. Mount standard and optional equipment and all necessary electrical wiring. Conduct functional tests of electrical systems. Correct or adjust any identified problems. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills. Maintain regular attendance. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Six months or more related experience. Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certificate in automotive technology, diesel, electro‑mechanical or related field, or experience in truck electrical repair and diagnostics. Experience using various small and pneumatic hand tools. Knowledge of AC/DC electricity. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, shop orders, and computer ordering and inventory programs. Other Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations. Vision: close, peripheral, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Sense of hearing. Sense of balance. Limb and finger dexterity. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to perform twisting, turning, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions. Ability to lift at least 35 lb. Ability to wear PPE (steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, vest). Working Conditions
