About the role As a Junior Motor Winder, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rewinding electrical motors and equipment. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical knowledge and a keen eye for detail who are eager to develop their skills in motor winding and electrical testing. You will work closely with lead winders and shop managers to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance, contributing to the reliability and performance of electrical machinery.
Job Responsibilities
Inspect equipment for electrical or mechanical damage and report findings.
Perform company-specified electrical and core loss tests with assistance.
Document coil, wedge, filler, and winding dimensions accurately.
Dismantle and strip damaged windings.
Prepare and inspect reusable parts for rewind.
Insert coils into rotor or stator cores and braze winding connections.
Apply insulating techniques during rewinding with guidance.
Test rewound equipment and document results.
Complete required job paperwork accurately and timely.
Operate specialized repair and testing equipment.
Note: Winders are a bit different than the traditional coil winder you might find from Eaton or SPX. We do a lot of form wound coils in our motors, so a lot of the winding here is done manually (as opposed to by machine, like at a lot of the transformer places). Experience with that would be more what we are looking for.

Physical ability to perform tasks, including squatting, kneeling, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work collaboratively with lead winders and shop managers.
Good communication skills to relay observations and test results.
Ability to operate specialized repair and testing equipment.
Commitment to completing accurate and timely paperwork.
Willingness to learn and apply proper insulating techniques.
