Essential Functions

Ensure manufacturing, quality and safety requirements are met.

Work from shop orders, specifications, schematics, prints, diagrams, production schedules and quality lists.

Diagnose problems, establish root cause, disassemble units, determine extent of repairs and rebuild or repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic units and software.

Reassemble and test components to meet all applicable standards.

Analyze operational malfunctions, identify root causes and coordinate resolutions with responsible parties.

Communicate instructions to customer representatives and, when required, visit customer locations.

Set up and operate electrical test equipment, diagnose wiring issues and reassemble repaired units.

Operate the full range of equipment and machine tools in the assigned area; maintain shop orders and correct discrepancies.

Provide technical advice to supervisors and assist with planning of daily activities.

Maintain required qualifications (EVT, AC certifications, CDL as required).

Assist in training and orientation of new team members.

Wearing fall protection devices when working at heights above 4 ft.

Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities.

Other Duties May Include

Assist with any operations needed to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.

Tools And Equipment Used

Hand tools, power tools, saws, soldering iron, test stands, voltmeters, amp meters, computers, data readers, tape measures, digital level, torch, plasma cutter, air arc, fixtures, overhead crane, impact wrenches, stud welder, grinders, belt sander, drill press, templates, heat gun, rivets, screw guns, shop truck, forklift and other required tools.

Minimum Requirements

High school graduate or General Education Diploma (preferred).

Math and blueprint reading skills.

Attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and commitment to AEV quality standards.

Good problem‑solving skills.

Team‑player attitude.

Physical Requirements

Lift/Push/Pull – Exerting up to 40 lb frequently or 20 lb constantly.

Climbing – Ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps.

Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching – Specified body positions.

Standing and walking for sustained periods.

Visual acuity required for machine operation and vehicle use.

Exposure to hazards: moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heat, chemicals.
