Your Role Will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and other diesel-powered equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Perform diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify issues
Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations
Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and braking systems
Use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to perform repairs
Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
Maintain detailed records of all services and repairs performed
Ensure all vehicles are compliant with DOT regulations, including brake maintenance and inspections
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the waste management industry
ASE Certification preferred
Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Shifts may vary, 40+ hours per week (overtime available)
